Ruby Zoisite is a wonderful stone, in it’s natural state it contains a lovely combination of green, pink, red and some black. In its rough state it has a great texture that makes it perfect for our Tallulah Collection.
As you can see from these two Tallulah rings, there is a great variation in colour. The silver ring has raspberry pink with a wonderful lime green. The gold vermeil ring has more muted tones of red and green.
Ruby Zoisite was first discovered in 1954 in Tanzania, and is also known as ‘anyolite’. The name anyolite derives from the native language of the Masai tribe for ‘green’.
Ruby Zoisite is the natural combination of Ruby and Zoisite crystals. Zoisite, the same mineral as Tanzanite, produces the lovely green colours, while the Ruby provides the pinks and reds in the stone.
Ruby Zoisite can also be a striking stone when polished, we have used it in Talitha. In these earrings we have used Black Spinel with the Ruby Zoisite to contrast with the greens and pinks in the stone.
