In love with Chandelier earrings, these wonderful pieces can add a touch of romance, drama and glamour to any ensemble or occasion. We have thoroughly enjoyed the design process. It begins with Sushilla (my mother) talking through her ideas with Mark (her husband). He then sketches 2 or 3 designs for approval and Sushilla usually knows very quickly which one she wants to take forward to the next stage.
If you look carefully, you can see Sushilla has had to make slight modifications to the design once she got to India and seen the stone shapes available.
Sushilla has chosen stones to enhance the feeling of romance for A/W14. Warm golds paired with ruby red, exciting Apatite with oh-so-smart Iolite.
Amelie in Iolite and Apatite.
I asked Sushilla which was her favourite pair of Amelie earrings. Her reply was, “Oh darling they are all gorgeous, don’t ask me difficult questions!” So I am afraid we are none the wiser, although I did spot her wearing the Amethyst / Ruby pair with white flowing shirt and jeans at the weekend, very Boho!
Another newbie on the block this season is Clara; a feminine oval hoop. Once again, Sushilla has gone to town adding splashes of colour.
Clara Earrings Citrine.
Of course we mustn’t forget the lure of Jasmine and Layla; new stones have been added for this season.

We at SuShilla Jewellery are always finding new ideas and inspirations for our original pieces while recognising the rich historical tradition of jewellery design, especially with regards to chandelier earrings which you can read all about here!

Never let it be said that Sushilla is scared of ‘colour.’
